£15999 for a GTi, rather save 2 more grand for a Edition 30  being that ive had both.

Bargain car for 16k a GTi, say that this time last year, you'd think " what planets he on"

I am missing the point of this thread economy slows, people buy less cars = market forces, if the price of a new car has come down compared to what you payed so what, The only people who will benefit from this are some one buying a car without one to sell.
and people in the market looking for a GTI with no trade in.
And these people dont exist there completeth the circle.

I'll believe that when I see it. Read in the paper on Saturday that supermarkets where dropping it to 99.9p but the massive tesco down the road from me is stil 106.9 :( along with everyone station in my area.

Thats pretty cheap, although remember it is an outgoing model so VW have probably dropped the supply price to get rid of the ones they have hanging around.

Good deal for someone thats in the market for one.

Speaking to my local dealer the other day. Vw are going to round up all the Remaining group stock cars of R32's, and give dealers a further 22% discount and try and get shot of them as they are currently Bollards sat on Dealers forecourts.

Expect some rather Cheap Mk5 R's shortly, and also would mean the Mk4 version will take a hit too.

I would trade mine in for one of those R32's however....round and round we go....prolly be lucky to get the best part of £9k for mine at trade in! The differential will always be the same and the stealer no matter what will still make their money, unless you fall into the categories as defined above there will be no benefit at all.

Just glad I have a fantastic car to drive on a day to day basis and sod the market and the dealers...could you imagine being stuck with a high end mazda or civic right now? D'Oh!

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)
