If I remember correctly there are 2 strut diameters on the mk5 50mm and 55mm, I think this will be difference in the part numbers. I think only a few early cars had 50mm. You would need to check yours but my bet is they are 55mm. I phone call to Awesome would soon clear it up. You should have a trip over and buy all your goodies
