Had my car in the othere week to sort some dealer damage out. Got it home and they had scratched the soft touch plastic around the DSG gear selector. Couldn't believe it

Mate, you need to write a letter of abuse. Or at least something constructive. I'd also go for a written confirmation of what work they will do and the standard it needs to be done to.

Unbelievable what the think they can get away with. And that's not even an old car like some of us drive!

Which insurance company is that, anyway? It's always good to know which ones are clueless and should be avoided! If they can't select a proper bodyshop, then they are in the wrong business.

Good on you that you have a good eye for detail!

the insurance company is direct line. They actually selected an affiliated garage and said it would be cheaper to get it repaired from there. It was me who insisted that it go into a VW garage

Will keep you posted on the progress.. But I am not sure I want my car back in there at all!

Also dont think I will keep the car after the lease has expired now... it just feels like its been abused by someone else.

Its shocking to hear about your car .:R32 

I remember the last time ours went in for a service it came back with scratches on the door sills and boot lid.... People just dont care anymore.

Be paient though. You will get her back looking HOTTT again.
