I have a Mk5 and would love a mk1 GTI
Had a mk1 gti 1.8 16v on twin 40 carbs got a mk2 16v all stock and had a mk4 gti nice carhad a mk4 r32 got a mk5 gti ed30 got to love the golf

I hope Honda turbocharge the next type R.Then VW will have to design a half decent new GTI, instead of the el cheapo MK6.

I don't.My Alfasud was much better than the Mk1 and Mk2.The MK3 and 4 GTI's were very slow for the era.Leaving the MK5 (must be DSG) as the best of the bunch. Just because I own (and like) a MK5 I don't have to like the earlier versions.What do other MK5ers think.
