Smoothed Boot
« on: 14 October 2008, 15:18 »
I'm thinking of debadging my boot in an effort to tidy it up a little. Is this easy to do? Has anybody got a step-by-step guide on how to do this?

Thanks,
Ben.

easy stuff to take of the badges, just get a hairdryer and some thread and you can heat up the badges and they should come of fairly easy then some wd40 to get rid of the sticky crap thats left behind, with the vw badge there is a recess behind it so you might want to get some filler etc or get a bodyshop to do that

I'm not so bothered about the VW badge. I want to tidy up the back plus I want people to stop confusing me with a petrol GTi - just the thought makes me cringe LOL

yeah literally hairdryer heat them up, then you should be able to either pull them away or i just got a bit of cotton threarn and kinda sawed the sticky back off then cleaned up with some wd40.

then all you need to do is book in to get the mkv boot release fitted lol

Will there be any fading behind the badges or will there be any visible outline once the badges have been removed?
