MK2 5 Door Roof Lining

Mines was droopy ~(no jokes) Staple gun did the job Joe! Was offered a mint 3 door one today, are they very different? just a little missing for the rear door apertures?

The lining is all saggy.

There's a black 5 door one with sunroof on the bay atm. 5 and 3 door are different because of the change in chassis shape for the rear doors, rubjonny can enlighten on this.

I also need to sort mine out, what was the name of the glue you suggested Joe? I think the post in the MK2 section about this got lost because of the ground hog 

Mine's all droopy and just needs glueing back up. I've got loads of no more nails but I think that's a bit extreme

the problem when they go saggy is that the thin layer of foam between the vinyl and the actual headlining degrades over time and thats why they go saggy. if you glue it up again you're glueing to the crappy foam again so ideally you need to strip the foam off and glue to a good surface. obviously this is a lot of work and you can cause more damage doing so.

you want a high temperature resistant impact adhesive.

as above i'd be inclined to leave it in place. removed the roof lining from my previous golf and it's a fragile thing and easily bends/breaks while out the car.
