Nice example, forget the exhaust system for now.

Get some coil overs, instead of the £250 - £300 on an exhaust get on the look out for some RIMS on ebay.

You should be able to get some Azevs or something, there were some the other week for £90 which needed a clean up.
Theres no point getting tracking done if your gonna change the standard rims, I waited a few months and got coil overs, rims, and tyres  all at once.

yeah i see what your saying but i dont think you get the bouncyness with more expensive suspension..how low have you got yours?

Well i think you will need to spend a good amount of money to get a suspension setup thats not bouncy and tbh the hottuning coilovers are totally fine to use on a mk3 golf. (wud b different if it was a new rs4 or sumin)

as for low, well im not actually sure how low mine is, but it aint slammed, but it is quite low.

im very happy with them m8, after drivin the last few days, hard in corners and stuff, wow they are good stuff. we've had good weather down here in devon the past few days and i've so much fun - cant stress enough how much better it handles than the standard setup.

I would get some collies and some second hand rims, even if you get some RS4 reps just for now, there is loads available cheap. Unless you need an exhaust it wont make it any more exciting. My collies were ok at standardish ride height (-20) but are bouncy now (-70) but i like it. And the porsche rims made a load of difference to looks/handling.

hottuning coilovers do what they say on the tin, cheap as, i have some, bouncy as hell, and un foriving, but at that price, they are a good buy.

As for exhausts, get a fairly cheap ish box, then get the center bit made up, otherwise it wont fit and will bang when you lower it.

guess you never had coilovers before then hahaha, they are all pretty bouncy. the hottuning ones are not that bad compaired to others uknow

thanks for all your replies its been a big help. i reckon iam gonna do what kells says and do it all at once. what are the best top mounts to go for? i hear VR6 ones are better than the GTI ones. I reck for the money it cant be any worse than a normal sus kit...i wont be putting it that low but just enough to make it look like it isnt on stilts lol

well i dont think you got to read my write up of me fitting the coilies lol, made quite a few mistakes, so i have learned from them, and i dont want anyone else making the mistakes i did. I remember mikester saying somethin wit the word "DEATH" in lol. mmmmm let me just say g-clamps......compression.......springs.......
