On way home from work today and i nailed a mk5 gti, Woohoo he bottled out at 115mph

I hate people that make "claims" like this.

You never nailed anyone, you were just slightly more stupid than he was!

Oh, get off your moral high-horse.  I'm sure you've never been over 70 in your "Cosworth"?!

Why I can't condone speeding in residential/school areas etc, ie 60 in a 20 (sorry, Linz - Although i know you've learnt your lesson ), there are some quiet & safe stretches of dual carriageways where I can't see it being THAT much of a problem, TBH (within reason, of course).  If the other person starts being stupid/dangerous etc, then just back off & leave them to it.

Just my 2p.

no point driving like a wally, coudl do it at the wrong place at the wrong time, i admitt i like launching of the line at the lights but in the few secs it takes to get up to 30 thats about it, one tiem some guy was tryign to race me was right up my ass so sped up a liuttel but set of lights came they turned red i had to brake, wally behind had to brake even harder and nearly wrote his car off into a railing

i think sometimes it may come across as a bit silly say i went xxxmph but thats my take on things

Looks like your forum Rich/rhyso has spread to the Mk 4 owners forum now. Its bad enough next door trying to keep all in check!!.

Ashmond, Mk5 standard GTi's are slow, doesnt surprise me
