Just had a look mate, incredible impressive. A truly unique car! Although even without badges if saw you behind me with that intercooler i would just move over

If yours has 270bhp i would imagine it is a bit faster than most mapped MK5's with it being lighter, but give them the same mods and i would expect they would be as quick. Its never fair to compare a modded car to a standard car!

equally you're comparing a MKIV GTI to a MKV ED30 and NOT a MKV GTI 

the OP wasted a GTI NOT an ED30 

Even so a standard mk5 gti will be alot quicker than a standard mk4

A mapped mk5 gti will be alot quicker than a mapped mk4

My point was a well modded mk5 (ed30 in the example) will be quicker when modded.

this thread wasn't about comparing MKIV vs MKV - the OP mearly stated that on his private runway he beat a MKV

Yes, im sure he always goes through his private run way on the way home from work. Funny how there was a mk5 gti on there at the same time

yeah some people have all the luck with owning private runways    too many hills in and mountains in Wales 

guess the MKV GTI was in the wrong place at the wrong time just like all the scooby, evo, porcshe etc owners who are passed by all the MKV GTI and ED30 drivers 

you seem to be having a go at us MKIV lot but the MKV lot 'race' all the time and i've not seen you condone their actions (if you have its probably lost in amongst all the chaff)

The thread gives the mk5 a bad name around most forums! I also do wonder where these people see these cars, i have had mine over a year and a half and driven around a fair bit (london, manchester, bath, bristol, Italy) and not had a chance to try mine against anything

a lot of people seem to have this idea that their car can beat anything on the road    i know i post about such things but then i pick on certain cars - like Fiesta ST's (and the guy was an idiot trying to overtake me on white chevrons  )  i know my car's limits
