But surely if you configure your map correctly for a 3.0" then this would not be a problem? But then I guess you sacrifice some low-end torque?

There was no scientific logic involved in it originally. I bought my Milltek second hand (off Jer/Phil's ED30 briefly and GTI originally), so had the 2.75" DP. But certainly doesn't seem to of hindered it's performance..
Luca then found a DP on ebay that was also from a GTI (not ED30) and I told him that mine was the same and it will be fine and also seems to of done the trick. Whether it works better or what the science involved in it is, I don't know. But i'm happy and by the sounds of it, so is Luca..

I got it for a good price off ebay . The car is definately quicker with stage 2 and full milltek . Not sure if it performs better with a 2.75 downpipe over the 3" as ive never tried it
My settings are B7 T5 F9, he wants it at boost 7 as im running at santa pod today so would prefer a little headroom for the engine
When the intercooler goes on the map will be tweaked a little more

Thanks vtec

Definitely - if it works well then no need to change!

Would be interested to see how a 3.0" affects things though!

I would like to try a 3" to see what the difference is, i would swap mine with someone for a few rr runs but i think it would be too much hassle.

Yeah seems like wayyy too much hassle. I'm sure someone will have a stage two with a 3.0" downpipe soon enough!

When the 2.0 TFSi was released some tuners only advised fitting a 2.75" downpipe rather than the 3" version not sure why, but the current oem downpipe is not as restricted as the prev 1.8t's were.My cars still running the full oem system with what you guys would call stage 2 - GIAC.
