My car broke down the other day, the RAC guy came, everytime I pull of it cuts out and everytime it idles it cuts out too.

Fuel starved he said.

Either the Carb or the Accelerator pump?

Anyone had this issue? its a Golf, 1.3 Hreg? 125000 miles?!!!

Clue me up guys!

Hi Raven have you popped this post in the MK2 section. I am sure it will get answered here but you will get a lot of nonsense in this section as well usually from me  :rolleyes:

As said before, MKII section.
But try the fuel filters first! Have you run it out or very low of fuel lately?

A trick I was taught, which actually fixed my 1.8 Driver when it was having problems was to hold revs at about... 3.5kish, and block off the air intake with your hand or something for about 8-10 seconds then let it go. Do this a couple of time and it'll get rid of anything that could be clogging up.

Worked great for me!
