this should probably be in another section   but hey. decided it was time to upgrade my computer (only use it for coming on here and other vw sites).so i`ve just purchased one off a mate,and was wondering if any one could tell me if its any good.
pentium 4 3.06
cdrw
dvd
windows xp
6 usb ports
and loads more that i cant remember but i think you get a rough idea
paid 300 quid for it
oh yeah its got 164mb or something like that

I think the 164mb is actually a 164GIG harddisc, as to get around 160meg you would need a 128mb & 32mb ram & i have not seen a DDR stick of ram less that 128mb in size

i am computer illiterate and probably wrote it all down wrong, mate just said it was a bargain he paid 415quid for it 2 months ago but work gave him a new laptop so never used it. just wanted to know if it was any good could of sold me anything and i wouldnt know

theoretically its all good, but its not just about numbers. The ram needs to be high quality, its not just about having lots of it, its about having fast stuff ddr 400 upwards and made by a reputable manufacturer. The same goes for all components. if that was made by pc world for example its got the numbers but i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole.  Either way, you cant really go wrong for 300 quid.
