Does the RCD have the built in hd like the RNS? I fancy one but don't need the sat nav.  This RCD listing on ebay doesn't mention a hd... :undecided:

Nope no Hard Drive on these

cheers for that steve, shame no hard drive, wanted to save a few quid as I don't need sat nav.  Oh well.  Start saving for the full fat version I suppose!

It does have an SD card slot though, yes?

So that's 2Gig of music at least.

I believe so, but the hard drive (which has 18GB of usable space after the maps are loaded) is better than having a few SD hards floating around.

Last time I cleaned the inside of the car I nearly lost an SD card to the vacuum cleaner

heehee!

I guess it depends on the price difference between the 2 units, some times it's worth paying a bit more - other times it's enough difference to make it easy to live with.

Oh, another question. Has anyone looked into retro-fitting some of the Rocco's HK upgrades??

Do you mean the Dynaudio stuff??

I am correctly looking ino the DAB option for the RCD/RNS-510 thats available for the Rocco to see whats required to fit this to a MK5  :nerd:

Oops, yeah Dynaudio in the VW. I've got HK in the C30 - got confused!

It'd be handy if some of the stuff was retro-fittable.

RNS = Touch Screen with Navigation, 30GB Hard Drive and DVD Drive (For Video and MP3 playback from DVD)

RCD = Touch Screen Non Navigation Version without a Hard Drive or DVD Drive.
