Anyone had shortshifter fitted to a GTI/E30?
How is it?
Also, if one fits it, is the gear lever still OEM (that is, do I still have my beloved golfball)?

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but I saw this thread and thought, brilliant idea... then I realised I've got DSG :embarassed: :embarassed:

I've had a Nuespeed one fitted and used a Forge on another car. The Nuespeed is excellent quality but a very short throw.
I recently changed to an S3 OEM part which costs under £30 and is quite nice to use.
Only 10 mins to fit really.

Shorter than the OEM but not as short as the Nuespeed.

You need to get access to the top of the gearbox so evoms out if you have that or remove the flexi on the stock intake.
Undo the top nut on the shifter and pull off the old one, push on the new one and fit everything back.

Got a part number for the S3 shifter, as at that price seems a worthwhile mod.
