Car repair day!
« on: 08 October 2008, 09:26 »
Well a whole month after my car was hit by some w4nker in a car park.. today it goes in for repair. I think I am looking at a whole 2 weeks without my car

Anyone had any experience with VW Huddersfield for bodywork??

Also not really looking forward to driving a Ka or whatever crap they give me (enterprise rentals that is). Have tried to get them to give me something bigger but I seem to be facing an uphill battle as they (enterprise) want the liable persons details, something that I dont have after giving them to my insurance company. Seems a bit silly how they wont call my insurance and ask for them.. ??? This seems the only way for them to give me a bigger car :undecided:

Good point

Not sure about the like for like. Im with direct line and they just contact enterprise who then contact you to arrange a car. Unfortunately after speaking with them they have only been authorised to provide 'A' category wheels. Surely if the other party is paying then.. should I not be rolling in a Phanton of something similar??? (or a golf atleast??)

If the tw@t who hit you is also with DL, then ickkle car is all you'll get.  If they were insured by another, then that is different - though you can't have say an RS4 - as that is classed as "betterment", and aint allowed in the UK.

Hope you get it all sorted right though.

Still waiting for mine to get sorted.

When the wife's 25th Anni had some minor repair work (non fault) I got a GT TDI 140 DSG as a 'equivilent', wonder if they will give me another GTI ... yeh right! Bet I get the same.

Im sure they will look after it R32uk, just imagine, at lunchtime in the Bodyshop, all the mechanics sat on or around your car, admiring it, a couple sat on the bonnet munching their Sandwiches, popping open a lovelly cold can of coke and then placing it by their side on the roof of the car , doors open letting the fresh air in (along with all the Filler dust and overspray with it). oh and the Heads or tails, who gets to blip it round the block before the owner collects it!

Honestly mate, dont worry, its just Metal, sleep well
