Full Set of rolling roads Graphs. ..from JKM

Out of interest, what mods have been done to the third car along on the top row ?  Just been comparing the graphs for a stock GTI against the grey GTI and been wondering what's been done to get such impressive results.

its ermm......totally standard! 

but really its just a remap + forge dv + sachs uprated clutch + boost gauge at the mo.

are you impressed by the healthy increase in torque by any chance? cos the outright top end bhp figure is pants by all accounts!

To be honest, I was impressed by the shape of both the hp and torque curves.  The HP may not be massively increased but the overall shape of the hp curve is improved nicely.

As for the torque curve, what a massive difference - that must completely transform the car on the road.

The REVO remap is definitely on my list for things I'd like to do down the road.   I'm not looking to do much with my GTI, but it's clear from your graphs that there is plenty of benefit to be had from the stage 1 remap.  It must be a blast to drive...the standard car is very punchy and "alive" so your car must be seriously good fun !

i held off for a good 2.5 years before deciding i wanted to see what all the fuss was about!

well everyone was right. it totally transforms the car.

i switched it back to standard the other day as car needed to go back to a dealer for something and it was just soo different.

but be warned tho that you may well need an uprated clutch to cope with the extra torque. that 300 lb/ft hit is a bit brutal and will light up the tyres easily.

however, it takes the fun factor to a whole new level!

1 - Have you tried to find out why your torque curve is significantly lower than that plotted on the Revo web site -

- from 3500 rpm upwards ?
Especially as you ran at a lower air temperature - as far as I can tell - 18 v 25.

2 - Who recommended the uprated clutch ?
Was that done before or after the remap ?

Those graphs are Totally inacurate. A stock GTi can not produce 213bhp standard FACT.

Revo need to have another look at their claims.

Yeah, looks odd Revo claiming 213 bhp for a stock GTI and Chungster getting 226 bhp after a Revo remap...

But then we don't know what else might have been done to the Revo car in addition to the remap,
though it doesn't state that anything else has been done.

Sorry not to reply sooner - I somehow missed this thread.

Yes, my car has had a fault and subject to another dyno to confirm plus other tests, feels (butt-dyno) back to Stage2 health but we (Revo, Milltek, JKM, and myself) are still investigating. No system fault lights have come on but the (smooth) graphs showed well down on torque and power though air/fuel plot was ok.

I am witholding publishing the results until the issue has been determined.

I appreciate that my case may be helpful to others but it will be more useful and meaningful when complete and to publish while incomplete could be misleading and leave things open to wild conjecture.

....Extremely rare but actually not fact. VW Racing have to do very accurate tests for the sake of complying with racing regulations etc and took delivery of a GTI engine from VW Germany which was supposed to be the standard 197-ish but was about 215 IIRC - It was certainly well over normal 'stock'. A mystery how or why but apparently it can happen.

However, I wouldn't like to say this is a similar case.

1. Nope not really bothered about the numbers. It goes well enough for me!
BUT...one thing the Revo graph doesn't say is what Fuel trim it was running. I ran B6 T5 F9. Although B and T are the same, they may have ran a richer F setting which may/may not affect things i don't know. I know F9 is the most fuel efficient setting tho.  Otherwise, yes my own car can be seen as being less than than the Revo's own demo plot in terms of torque and power further up the rev range.

2. I wanted to change it shortly after remapping due to fact standard one started to slip, and i was planning further changes (which may still happen) which definitely would have required a better clutch.

OK thanks, that may make some sense.

But does that imply that your engine may be running a weak air fuel ratio ?
I wouldn't have thought Revo would set an engine up like that, since there is an optimal ratio,
but I'm not sure I understand exactly what the B, T and F numbers really mean.
