Car should be ready tomorrow now, the lower alloy part of the inlet pipe just wasnt going to fit, and since the samco STILL hasn't turned up they're machining a piece from a later model golf for me.
Now the fun part, with the turbo off they could see exactly what was wrong. Something had managed to get inside the turbo and get whizzed round at 850mph totally destroying an impellor. This little "something" is probably now bouncing around my cat somewhere.. its probably a screw or something similar in size.. and who were the last people to have the turbo inlet pipe off ? That's right.. main vw dealer when they replaced the MAF sensor.. just need to think of a way to prove it was them now to get some money out of them.
