I've got a 2.0 16v but it's unresponsive until the revs kick in. What can I change - I'm on a (girlfriend imposed) budget? Currently thinking splitfire plugs, K&N and boost valve. Also need to sharpen up the handling - Will stiffer springs do the job or do I need to replace dampers etc?

optmix is definately worth using makes my mk3 run a hel of a lot bettter.
As for lowering spring i would go for spring and dampers personally, and i can tell u that u will notice one hell of a difference

If the car is unresponsive then it is worth checking the static ignition timing.
