Not the best pics - but best I have for now
« on: 02 October 2008, 20:00 »
Picked up my GTI on Monday and posted a couple of quick snaps taken on my mobile on Monday evening.

I had a spare 10 minutes before giving someone a lift home late this afternoon / early evening, so I took the opportunity to take some snaps.  They aren't the best, but they'll do for now....

How you finding it compared to the Skyline?

Thanks for the kind comments guys

Looks great!

How you finding it compared to the Skyline?

It feels TOTALLY different to the Skyline.  I've not really had a proper play and have only used it for the commute to work so far.  I like to ease myself in to a new car, understanding how it reacts in different situations and gradually pushing the car harder.

The Skyline was an absolute brute when driven hard, my turbo choice on the Skyline was fast spooling turbo's which offered good punch and excellent midrange and it really was quite savage.  It was extremely exhilirating to drive and you had to keep very concentrated as the backend would step out quite easily if you weren't careful.

Driving the GTI - I find it such a nice place to be.  It's got great pull from low revs (in-fact that's REALLY impressed me) and makes for a very fun road car.  I am extremely pleased with my choice.  I'm definately going to enjoy owning this car ... it clearly works well as a town car and from what I've done so far I think it's going to be a great b-road "blaster" - it's got a real urgency about it.

So, initial impressions are VERY positive.  I'm looking forward to going out for a "proper" drive and seeing how it feels.
