mk5 to mk6
« on: 30 September 2008, 10:30 »
just in case anybody wants to "upgrade" to a mk6 then i have a very easy solution. (and cheaper)

wait for the mk6 gti to come out, then go to your local parts department and buy the front bumper, front lights, grill, bonnet and wings, then simply bolt them on and you will have a golf mk5.5. front is a mk6 and back being the much better mk5,   i think it would work!!

Cut a square out of your grannies tartan travel rug and sellotape it to your front seats.

LOL, i thought this, probably the same car underneath

It IS the same car underneath.  Identical floopan/chassis, identical firewall, identical front subframe and suspension (apart from the electric gubbins), identical rear subframe and suspension.  :nerd:

Which is why I stated in an earlier thread that it isn't actually a Mk"6" at all, just a Mk"5.5".

One of the car mags stated that the dash has exactly the same mounting points so you could stick that in too.
