i just asked what they will look like and where they will be placed and if they will be sent directly to owners and got this back

Unfortunately, I do not know the time frame or what the plaque looks like.

 

However, I can confirm that the plaques will be sent direct to the owners and that your car is registered on our systems as ** ***.

 

Full instructions for attaching the plaque will be sent with it.

I just rang VW Customer Services and they said that a plaque will be sent out to the my registered address... like a mug I said thanks and put the phone down before wondering whether this is the DVLA registered address or the address I gave VW when the car was purchased... I have moved since.  This plaque handing out exercise may well turn out to be a farce.

its the address on the VW system, i made my dealer check and change mine as i had a private plate on and the car was on there system as my original plate and i wouldnt have got a plaque, contact your dealer and see what details are registered against your car

As I am writing this I'm on the telephone to VW customer care expressing my concern.  Initially the female operator I am speaking to stated that there was no news, but when I quoted the emails and gave names of Clare Lodge, Andy Townsend etc, she has now put me on hold ..... am still waiting - ANY QUESTIONS ASK NOW !!!!

She has now told me that they are coming - no fixed date as yet - not sure what form they would take - I asked how they would look.  She took my number and stated she would call me back when they had more information.  I recorded the call - so there is evidence also.  Her name was Kerry Morris.

to say they are supposed to have these plaques in there hands so to speak you think someone would have seen them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what about informing PVW, Golf+, EVO, Top Gear, edition 38, club GTi, newspapers, 5th gear - basically anyone in the motoring world with some sort of clout - or to sufficiently embarass VW - we all bought a car that was sold to us all as a 1500 only production run ONLY - not god knows how many more !!

Is there any actual written evidence of the production run being limited to just 1500 cars.  If there is, and it is verifiable, then all 2300 Ed30 could actually sue Volkswagen for breach of contract - either as individuals, or as a group action.  Trading Standards - preferably the Trading Standards for Milton Keynes council (because that is where VW UK is officially based) would definately offer some advice, and may even take up your case.  It is basically selling goods under "misrepresentation".

We were duped by VW 

Sadly, all aspects of VWUK are seriously useless.

SteveP - maybe just to add a bit more "gravity" to your letter, you really ought to include the full VINs, along with the names/addresses/reg numbers of registered keepers.

And for future reference, you could actually sort them by VIN order, and actually check when they were built.
