spacers would lower the ET even further, if anything they'll catch your arches!

Are they they 4x100? If not then you need hub adapters. Thinnest size adaptors ive seen are 25mm thick

yes, 4x100. I found this set in 2nd hand market, I think they're for BMW E30.
