Parts for my mk1
« on: 17 May 2004, 23:36 »
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I have just bought my mk1 Gti Campaign with 16v conversion. As most 21 yr old cars, it needs some attention and I was wondering who is a good VW parts stockist for this type of car? Preferrably in the south east area.

Many thanks and I hope I am welcome.  :)

Of course you are welcome, glad to have you on board. You can do a lot worse that using Stuart from Eurocarparts for most of your parts:-

Thanks for the advice! And the warm welcome of course!

I am chuffed to bits with the 16v mk1! Its a Lhasa Green Campaign with a few more bits on it too.

You may have seen it last yr @ GTI international A***GBF before i had it, couldnt make it this yr as MOT ran out the thursday before! ARRGH!

In particular im looking for a rear bumper and the interior sunroof beading if anyone know of someone who has.

Cheers,

Neil

Welcome mate, you chose the best place to come to for advice. I don't know where your nearest German and Swedish store is but they're great for placcy bits.  Bumpers are around ?40 each brand new and fitment is great.

All the best with the MOT work

It passed its MOT without a problem! makes me laugh that a 21 yr old car can do that yet my 5 year old punto GTT cant! heheh oh well, teaches me for buying cheap italian metal!

Im afraid its gonna be all questions from me about the mk1 being new, but i can answer for the mk2 as ive had one for a few years and carried out various work on it.,

Glad to hear about the MOT.  Nice when that happens.  Mk1's/2's arent so different as far as questions go.  but everyone here is great and will be more than willing to assist you with ya mk1 (good choice).

Also if you don't want to buy brand new bits, just look for someone who is breaking a car...er....like me perhaps ;D
