Hi guys,

Trying to get some of the rust sorted on my mk3 and wondering if any of you have a rough idea of what a body shop would charge for this?  I'm only really looking to get spot repairs on the rust done (not a whole panel respray, as long as the paint can be reasonably blended in?)...just got a quote off a company that want £697.00 - which by itself isn't horrendous as they were looking to completely re-spray/mould the panels, but I only paid a couple of hundred more for the car!

Rust is as follows:

~1.5" spot of rust underneath the rear passenger (driver's side) window, where the rubber meets the bodywork and 3" scratch, just slight surface rust on the scratch

Rust underneath the driver's door lock (looks as though someone may have tried to break in to it at some point) - paintwork is bulging slightly but bodywork appears solid

Rust on boot - fingernail sized that I tried to repair myself but ended up doing the worst paint job imaginable!  Rust is treated, just requires rubbing back and painting.

So, does anyone have an idea roughly how much I'd be expecting to get this rust spot repaired (if that can be done) in the South West (live in Poole, Dorset)?

Thanks
Chris

Forgot to add to my original post - I'm also looking for recommendations of any good body shops in the Dorset area.  I've got a list but would like to get it done somewhere decent!

Thx again,

Chris

Mate, cant you just keep an eye out ebay for a breaking mk3 same colour?

After about 2 months I found a dragon green mk3 breaking near me and got a mint door for £25!

Youd get both doors and tailgate for no more than a ton, Its just waiting
