pas on a 89 golf

i know this might sound a silly question but im after fiting PAS to my 89 golf 16v can any one tell me if its easy and how to do it or is it not worth doing
ive had alook on hear but cant see the wood for the trees lol :laugh:

Not worth it unless you're using it on the track. Manual steering is so much more fun than PAS.  :evil:
Passat B5.5 2.3 V5 170, with all the extras.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

much prefer PAS on mk2 golfs,   have driven non pas the steering isn't that heavy but the rack is longer,  find pas easyer for general parkign ect  but also the shorter rack and power asistance is usefull when playing as you can pile lock on faster when needed.  imo it a better car with pas  that why so meany had it
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Nope. But drove other cars with pas.
Passat B5.5 2.3 V5 170, with all the extras.

ive had one without pas thinking it may be better but it wasnt, i much prefer pas on a mk2

For fitting you will need

Rack
Steering UJ
Pipes
Bottle & bracket
Pump brackets
Bottom pulley
Belts
And the bracket to hold alternator etc on

I think thats it

'they' say the 16v pas rack is quicker than a normal pas rack too, not really seen anything to back this up but the part numbers do differ in etka!
