....

If someone offers you Revo other than from either Revo themselves or via one of their officially approved agents, stay well away! It won't be genuine or supported.

I don't recall it ever being as much as £700 - More like £550 and worth every penny imo - Great aftersales support and reliable software.

Going for a cheap remap from a less established VAG specialist tuner and saving what? £200? £300? - Not worth it - Any issues could cost you far more than what you've saved.

I completely agree with you RedRobin, and if I choose to go down this route, then I will definitely be going through an approved supplier, most probably AMD Essex as they're only ten minutes from me and Skavia received such good service there!

Uz,

Give Ben / Shaun a call at AmD before hand tho.

They may just match the offer and throw in a Select plus switch at a bargain price!

As for problems....watch out for potential clutch slip.

Sorry Chung,

Just to make sure I understand, is the AMD re-map the REVO re-map? Or is the AMD a completely different kettle of fish? I'm 80% down the road on a REVO re-map but still haven't taken the plunge as I'm moving to the lovely Chatham on the Mudway this weekend........ any good tips for Kent tuners?
ES

Still miss the integrale..........

Thanks for the advice Chungster, I think I'll wait and see what the pricing is like for the Quattronics day, but will definitely ring AMD and if they give me an attractive price will get it done as it would save a lot of fuel if I had it done there....

Have you experienced this yourself? Is the best solution an uprated clutch pack?

AmD Essex (formerly known as Big Boys Toys) were one of the biggest Revo dealers in the UK (in terms of remaps done)

They still offer Revo Remaps (it is a rather popular option after all) but they also now supply the AmD Technik Remap if you don't fancy a Revo map.

So as to your question...is the AmD remap the Revo Remap..NO is the answer. AmD Essex now offer 2 different makes of remaps for you to choose from. AmD's own one, or Revo as they are a Revo Dealer.

As for Kent Tuners....some like Impossible Performance in Kent. But you can't go wrong with AmD in Thurrock.
