Revo
« on: 25 September 2008, 13:12 »
Hi Guys,

I know a lot of you use Revo and I just wondered if anyone has ever had any problems with it, and what the warranty situation is if something goes wrong with the car whilst running Revo? Also, I'm not really concerned about increasing mpg but is it true that many of these chips do increase fuel economy?

On the verge of having my GTI done, but just need that final push I think!

The only time it will affect warrenty is if a dealer can prove without doubt that the cause of the OEM failure is down to the differences that the Revo makes.

In terms of problems with a Revo software remap - I don't think too many have had issues with them at all, other than the OEM Diverter Valve failing (unless you have a 'revision G', which are regarded as being better, not bulletproof, but better). Also it has been known for the PCV to fail on occasion. But both are relatively minor.

Revo is pretty good, only thing i would look for is to try and buy from a show where peopel seem to be getting it a a greatly reduced price (like under £500 with the switch)

I think the only show they've ever done that offer (and are going to do that offer with, having spoken to someone at Revo HQ) is GTI International...

But yes, if you can wait that long, then it is definitely a saving worth having!!

Thanks White, that clears things up a lot. So is it better to get the DV upgraded at the same time as having the map loaded?

well tbh if it was £500 when i was looking to chip i would have hgad it, but they wanted well over £700, so i got a bluefin in the end for £450
