I used to support a massive Retail companies point of sale system that had Dos 6.22 on local hard drives. They used to overheat all the time, and lose the sales data that was on them, amounting to over £20k per till on some days. This meant a full stock take as they had sales based ordering, i.e. you sell a tin of beans, it reorders a tin of beans. If the till dies with lots of stuff sold on it, none of that gets reordered

I used to use Ghost Corporate to back them up daily over the network, and clone the disks for fast replacement! GetDataBack saved my bacon many many times I can tell you
