I'm still Fuel Confused (oh and I'm a newbe!!)
« on: 13 May 2004, 21:49 »
 ;D Hi Peeps,

I'm new here, how ya doing?? been reading alot of the topics, but haven't really found an answer to a topic which has been bugging me!!

2 weeks ago I bought a 2002 Diamond Black Golf GTI 1.8T , first off I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

BUT I am taking it to Revo to be looked after very soon (i.e. next week) this is due to alot of reccomendations and forum viewing etc etc....

My problem is FUEL!!!.

In the Technical Data section of the manual, it says : Super 95 RON/ Normal 91 RON according to DIN EN 228

I have been using normal unleaded since buying the car but  in all your opinions and experiences (2 heads are better then one as they say, in this case hundreds...)

Can I Use Super Unleaded RON 98 or (that Shell Optimax stuff) or will it mess up my engine/ timing etc.

What are all your views please?? only had the car for 2 weeks don't want to mess it up already :-\ Thanks Guys and Girls....

The SPS1 instructions for my REVO state that a 98 ron (i.e optimax or super) must be used when the car is in performance mode.
Apart from that, as above.. any unleaded will be fine

and welcome to the forum  ;D
