From the throttle body / area you should have:

one large vacuun hose going to the valve for the activated charcoal canister
one small vacuum hose going to the pre heating valve on the air filter housing.
one small hose going to youe ecu.
one small hose going to the valve for the crankcase breather at the front of the engine.

i dont seem to have any going to a crankcase breather, i looked today on a customers 16v and there was deffentley a small vacuum pipe coming from the hard plastic servo hose going somewhere to the right of the engine bay,i think the pipe turned white half way through,

is the crankcase breather near the idle valve?, where the big breather hose from the bottom end connects to.

my idle speed seems high wonder if its something to do with it,

i have a induction on the car, the small vacuum hose from near the tps sensor, what went to the airbox, ive just blanked these off is this ok to do?

When you have an induction kit ie k & n thay supply a blanking cap for this. It usually goes to the airbox

First picture shows from left to right:

Black hose (with bolt in the end) should go to the valve for the carbon cannister.
Blue hose running towards the bottom is to the air filter box.
Blue hose running by the first spark plug gap is to the fuel rail (I think it might be for the fuel pressure regulator)
Blue hose at the top above the VW sign goes to the ecu.

2nd picture shows the short hose to the crankcase breather valve.

3rd picture shows the black line from the servo to the inlet manifold, nothing branches off of mine.
Also shows the blue line to the ecu.

Bear in mind that differant years may be slightly different. Mine is 1996. Also if the car has auto climate control this may have other vacuum lines.

This is the one that is blanked off when you have an induction kit
