Help a dubber out..
« on: 19 September 2008, 14:12 »
This is possibly the longest shot I've tried on this forum, but..

I'm looking for a vento front end. It needs to be 'bright blue metalic' (colour LP5U) which were around on quite alot of 1994 1.9 tdi vento's..

I've looked on eBay, no joy with people who are breaking. I've considered buying a vento in this colour, nabbing the front off it and then selling the rest of it, but it won't work out as I'm looking at spending £800 on a car I only need 4 panels from, to then try and sell it without losing too much money

I'm in need of a close mint bonnet, grille and lights. Possibly want the wings if they're mint too..

Anyone got any ideas? Kells? you seem to know everyone!

cheers guys..

I've tried Volksapart who isn't breaking 1 at the mo..
I've looked on ed38 and I can't find any breaking..
I've put a request in with Stevens VW Break, so I guess we'll hear back..

It's just the quotes I've had have been absolute snot for painting. - how much should I be looking at to paint a bonnet/grille in my colour? I've been quoted around £250 for the bonnet and £75 for the grille, obviously matching into the current paintwork. I can get the brand new parts cheap enough, it's just the painting which costs an arm

think I'm gnna keep lookin for the next month, then only if i cant get a mint 2nd hand 1 I'll find some place which'll spray 'em for a decent price.

Them vento fronts are difficult to find... even harder in specific colours!! I would recomened getting one sprayed as the newwest vento is over 10 years old now and most dont seem well looked after!! (unloved unlike the golf!)

oh and I hope kells didn't see this

haha yeah  sorry about the dig.. it wasn't specifically towards you kells, just..well..slightly towards you?

i remember reading about how kells went like a million miles up and down the country to find a door in his rare colour, so i thought he may have had some tips on finding specifics!

decided I'm definitely going get it done properly.. used the old search function and found this lingering from a while ago, actually inspired me:

and looking at these pictures dosent help me decide!!  :undecided:

I had a vento I was going to use the front from....but someone offered me a good price for the whole car and without space to break!
For a bonnet, grille and lights your looking at about £50-70 (unless you go to e38 etc ) or with a bumper add another £20-30..... I've seen several about this year for them prices but not the right colour!
