squeaky front brakes

my front brakes have started squealing which is rather embarressing.  :embarassed: and id like to know the cure please!

what is it that actually squeals? ive got some  copper grease, so where exactly have i got to spread it around to stop this annonying noise?

does it only squeak when you apply the brakes? Have a look at the pads anyway, worth a check.

yep only when i apply the brakes. its only the drivers side aswell i think.
i cant be arsed taking them apart until i know about the greasing though

grease what though? put oil or grease on your brakes and you wont stop...all you need to do is remove the wheel and have a look through the caliper.

the only thing i ever grease is between the disk and the hub but that just stops corrosion not squealing and dont apply to much or else!

Make sure the pads move freely in the carrier, also make sure there are no shims missing. Use copper grease on the back of the brake pads, and on the moving contact points of the pads and the carrier.

Brake disc glazing perhaps?   :huh: Does that cause squealing ?

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

thats the answer i was after! i knew they didnt print a picture of a brake setup on teh copper grease tub just for the hell of it!
