I took a look at the Scirrocco earlier today and I must say that it does look very cramped inside, absolutely no good for 'family man' (which is me  :embarassed:) whereas the Golf can fit that requirement more readily.

Have actually fallen for the new Passat CC but I'm not sure if I'm old enough to have one

....I'm old enough for the Passat CC and it is a very elegant car. I've also test driven the Scirocco - Review+25pics : - http://biali.ritey.com/forum/index.php?topic=109.0

But, do you know what? - I prefer the GTI as it's a much better allrounder imo.

But sadly, isn't the Mk V obsolete if the dealers aren't taking any more orders :embarassed:

the best line was

"Only a fool would buy a 3 door Gti"

I had such a laugh when I heard him say that. Typical fifth gear rubbish instantly dismissing how good the GTI is. Scirocco is a lovely car and I agree it does feel cramped but the cars both fulfill different needs, especially practicality wise.

There is place for a scirocco GTI / .:R variant (should they make one) and a Golf GTI. It's nice to have the option of both. But to suggest you are a fool to buy a GTI it just ridiculous.

You will have to wait if you want to fit aftermarket wheels to the new scirroco.
From what I can see the hub fitting for the wheels is 5x125 pcd, very helpfull?

once they were saying different things....

well, I better be a fool with 3door GTI, but at least I stand by what I say.

Really, these programs are pure entertainment, and no informational content.
I stopped watching TV long ago. The only thing I'd watch is some crazy stunt by Top Gear fools.

The scirocco is a lovely car, but it is for single people, the practability of the golf best suits your average person, the boot looks tiny
