the afm mod is also usefull for older afms that have gone out of spec a bit, or have worn contacts on the pcb.  its a bit of a black art though more often than not you cause more problems than you fix!  Always leave this till you have tried everything else :)
also worth noting the afm off a MK3 2.0 8v will also fit a MK2, has the same bosch part number :)

Would a mk3 afm offer any advantage over a later mk2 afm? :)

Just realised- when you say same part number, does that just mean its the same part?

Follow the infamous rubjonnys digi timing guide! It worked well for my car.

mk3 part is the same so no advantage, I managed to pick up a newun off ebay for £50  :cool:
the VAG part number differs for some reason, but I compared the bosch number on both the new one and the one I took off and it was the same. No idea why the VAG numbers differ, perhaps they have a different 'default' setting on the screw or summat.

mine seems fine on set off but in second if i let off then re accelerate there is a slight delay is this digilag
