ok i took the polo into the garage for the wheel bearing
and it ended up they were ok but the diff on my gearbox
is on its way out.

he reckons i cud get a gearbox for 75quid
n he will fit it for 80

i am gettin a 5 speed though since mine is only a 4
is the price good or not

oh yeah got eyebrow spoiler on my car aswell now ;D

Well unless its been done recently, that is.

Most of the work involved in replacing the clutch is removing the gearbox........if you're removing the gearbox anyway, might as well get it done. What's your mileage and has the clutch been done? Depending on use (town or motorway) I expect you're looking at about 100,000 miles on a clutch :-\

90,000 n it had big service before i got it dunno if clutch was done though

Clutch won't usually be done as part of a service. Usually 'on-condition', so I doubt yours has been done unless its in your service history.

At the very least get the guy to have a look at it and see what he recommends........could save you a lot of money in the long run.
