do you think the revo remap had anything to do with it, ie too much boost, etc.  or was it just old age, how many miles had it done?
Me old diesel was quick/........

Took it to stealth and Vince spotted it right away.

K03 sport is the plan if i can get one cheap enough, and hmmm... i think we should be getting in touch with revo matey, never know they might cough up some cash towards the repairs. Or at the very least they should be interested to inspect our knackered turbos.

false alarm matey, cheaked all the hoses on to the turbo and the intercooler all looked ok but then gave them a better look and pulled them about a bit and 1 was lose, refitted it and now its all good.. you said about opening the window and having a listen. well i did and it sounded like a whiney hissy noise. are you sure your turbo is dead and not  just a lose pipe?? also what figures does vince think you will see with a k03s. and is that a direct bolt on part and do you need a remap???

Interesting that your car was drivable when a pipe was off your turbo. I had a serious sunday afternoon abuse session in my 2000 150 1.8t and suddenly all the dash lights came on and it died. Coasted it over to the kerbside and found that it would only start with my foot to the floor in neutral and even then it ran very badly to 800rpm and as soon as i took my foot off it died. RAC man didnt have a clue and once it was back at the stealers they said a pipe had come off the turbo.

To be fair i was completely abusing it, wheel spinning at a load of junctions and i guess the engine was rocking around enough for the pipe to come loose. Ooops  :)
