2.0 8v from a mk3 into a mk2 8v

I'm using the whole 2.0 8v engine plus gearbox ...

It's easier to just bolt on the 2L bottom end and you get more torque doing that too. Apparently.

I'm using the whole engine cos the garage i took it too didnt tell me the bottom end of the 1.8 was gone and carried on with the rebuild of the head anyway...

if you got a 1.8 head use that on the 2.0 bottom end it means you can still use your standard injection and wiring etc
a lot less time consuming than wiring a 2.0 in

That's my point and you end up with more torque

so all you do is change the bottom end? no other work involved?? i mite look into getting a bottom end from somewhere if so

my mate's doing it - he says its just plug n play going from a 1.8 8v to a 2.0 8v

got a doner car so all the bits are there

... and ripping out the dash to rewire, changing fuel lines and pumps and.. and ..

Swap the 1.8 bottom end for the 2.0 bottom end, cheaper and quicker.
