Removing Tint Spray
« on: 14 September 2008, 17:34 »
Hey guys,

Ive got my MOT next week and dont want to risk it failing for my lights being too dark or something.

What do I use to remove the spray?

Thanks,
Dec

From what I remember the can I have in the shed says you can just peel it off, I'll check what it says if I can find it

Try nail varnish remover if it doesn't peel off... but test the NVR on a small section incase it eats the plastic  :lipsrsealed:

erm... dont think it will come off with white spirit as i found out years ago.

NVR might be worth a try.

if not get some stick-on reflectors otherwise you could fail the MOT.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

I've only sprayed the top part with the indicaitors and reverse light and I think the reflector is on the lower half isn't it? Just worried they'll be too dark to pass and my side indicaitors possibly will aswell :/

As long as the correct colour comes through the tint you're OK :afro:

don't quote me on this but i didn't think side repeaters were compulsory, just recommended? If so you shouldn't have a problem with them surely? Like i said, don't quote me on it tho :)

not 100% sure but i think you can get away with no side repeaters. But bear in mind if you have a light IT MUST WORK! so non working side repeaters would fail, but no side repeaters at all, is a pass ( if its legal not to have them anyway)
