Typical stalling problem sorted, but....

OK, I have a Mk3.5 Cabrio with the 2.0L 8v engine and was suffering the usual stalling at junctions even when dipping the clutch.

I managed to get around to do the throttle body clean today and it's sorted the problem! I am so happy I gave the girl a thorough clean and wax!

But...when it would stall, I managed to get it going again by "bump starting" it whilst still rolling and have been doing this for some time.
Recently the clutch started slipping quite badly, what sort of damage could I have done by repeatedly bump starting it?  :sad:

I know squat about clutches!

So no one can tell me how a lot of bump starting affects the clutch....?!  :rolleyes:

Bumping them will wear the clutch faster but unless it was all ready getting past it...I would say its just failed sooner due to wear and tear and the bumping together.
I would be more interested in the cat!! as bumping dumps fuel down the exhaust and when that hits the cat it kills the internals!! I wouldnt worry unless the emmisions are high next test

ahhh cheers...it's recently had a new cat so hopefully that will be OK.

Car's only done 51K I'm just a bit concerned at things like this going wrong at what seems to be a low mileage
