Brakes and Coilover time!

Picking the car up friday, going to order the coilovers today or tommorrow (best set so far are "Supersport" for ?325 delivered).

Also want to upgrade the braking of the cab.

Whats my best bet?
Black diamond grooved and drilled discs? I dont want to spend a fortune... (so no Brembo suggestions please!)

And where stocks the brakes? Dubmiester dont..

Got a quote of 82.25 for black diamond grooved and vented discs..

I have black diamond brakes and predator pads with the mk2 calipers, and braking is 100% better. You will still find the feel a bit spongy, but this can be cured wiith the popular mk2 22mm servo conversion

I also ordered the supersport coilovers, but due to a problem with ordering I got upgraded to FK coilovers. These are first rate, but very harsh. I have heard very good reports on the supersports though.

where can i get the 22mm mk servo? and calipers?

tempted to buy the wheels before upgrading the brakes

You can get the mk2 calipers from a mk2   . But you will need carriers, C&R actually do an entire conversion kit.

The Mk2/early Passat servo's are both 9 inches (what the part number on the servo in the pic?)

I got the servo, M/C, calipers and carriers from http://www.sanburn.co.uk for ?115 inc vat and p+p. However, it is advisable to get a new M/C for safety.

I presume the Mk1's and Mk1 Cab's share the same standard brake setup??

i didnt want to upgrade the disc size... just the braking ease, and the disc itself later on... i heard that a servo (not sure what one looks like) will do this..

The servo (which is the object in the pic posted above) along with a larger master cylinder will sort out the lack of pedal feel.

I have a Passat 22.2mm master cylinder on mine with the 9" servo it will make a big improvement especially if you are replacing the standard size discs and pads with 'performance' items.
