whats the best fuel uve found to run ur mk3 on

just wondering what is the best fuel to run ur mk3 golf on ive been running on normal 95 fuel but other day put 97 ovyane fuel in and my vr6 seems to run on it better smother acceleration on on tick over seems smother. was just wondering if any one else has found this out and what fuel u use.

I run a 2001 Volvo T4 and I always run it on Shell V-Power. It does make a difference on more powerfull cars like the T4, VR6, Scoobies etc in fact Tesco sell a 99 octane fuel and thats like blooming rocket fuel - great stuff - just not many Tescos sell it 

For the extra few pence I go with V-Power or the like, your car will feel better for it too.

I've tried optimax and v-power and I agree the car pulls stronger and feels more powerfull?..... but I also found it harder to start and it needed an extra hold on the key to get going!!
95= first time starting
98+= better running once going!

I was using Tesco 99 super unleaded and yes there is a difference from 95 unleaded but because of money and such I am forced to use 95, also found it doesnt burn as quick as 99.

Don't quite follow this?

99 Octane does just that, it burns quicker, hotter and cleaner hence the increace in power.

95 - normal
97 - V-power etc
99 - Tesco stuff 

And according to various reports the Super Unleaded stuff helps decoke and degum the head too over time which can only be a good thing

Well not sure if I should have done this but when I was using 99octane I mixed it in with NOS Street racing liquid from halfords cost £20 but didnt feel any difference at all.

Bloody hell the car should have flown! There again there's been write ups on that stuff - and not all good too 

There is certainly a difference on a "proper" performance car between Unleaded and Super Unleaded. In fact Scoobies/Evos and my T4 recommend it in the handbooks.

if ur after a few more miles to a full tank add a few ml of acetone to ur tank quiet alot of car clubs have been doing this one pearson got 80 miles extra out the tank.

Yeah I was expecting some serious boost!! Cant see any write ups though but surely there is better stuff out there?
