Don't think there are many that don't have a Milltek, but just want to get an idea and review of other exhausts... Just want to do as much research as possible before I make the decision.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

The APR exhaust is worth a look the quality makes a milltek look tatty. They also have the new RSC system, reflective sound technology which is supposed to cut down on the resonance in the cabin associated with aftermarket exhausts.

Take a look-http://www.goapreu.com/products/apr_exhaust_mkvgti.html

I'll be having a nosey when the S3 one comes out soon

....APR exhausts are usually pretty loud and pretty harsh sounding. Perhaps this explains why they need their new RSC system.

I have been in contact with Remus about a system for the Ed30, their site wasn't very good so i emailed them and now they have updated it with part no's and prices and some pictures.Their quality looks good to, seen one fitted to a A5.
you also get Jetex & Supersprint.

They have always had a stealth/jet option i think it was, i.e resonated/non-resonated, but yes they are a different sound to the milltek, less of a burble and more of a whistle/jet sound. Think I'll have a look at them for a different option as there seams to be a few quality issues recently with milltek since they have taken a more mass produced approach to things.

Interesting advice...

Top Cat - thanks, I'll have a look on there later on.

Gaz - cheers i'll look at that too

K4ith - yeah heard a couple things about the Remus, im intrigued.

Definitely don't want an exhaust that is too droney in the cabin, especially at motorway speeds, my ears won't be able to cope with another loud car (my second car is ridiculous, and I swear I'm going deaf slowly) ......dont fancy wearing hearing protection in the Golf - would look like a bit of a melon really!

I just want the exahust for the performance gains. Are there any reports of some systems releasing more performance than others?

Thanks again all.

Chris.

Can anybody tell me at approximately how many miles or KM's the factory exhaust blows?

My dad had a custom made Powerflow Exhaust fitted to the Pajero and it increased the torgue and HP of the car dramatically.

He wants to fit the same exhaust to the GTI. Its a straight system and we cant wait to see the differences... If I remember correctly it cost us about 4000 rand which is about 260 pounds for the Pajero's exhaust system. The golf might cost more.

5 years??

How does it last that long? Our 320i went through like 3 exhausts in the space of 5 years and thats a boring old BMW.

Will have to talk him into getting it done sooner...
