R8 alloys?

I've read elsewhere that R8 alloys on a mk5 gets a lot of hate for some reason. Is this true? I've been tempted by this 18" set of replicas:
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

For some reason iv always liked the R8 alloys and would really like a set for my R32...a photoshop i did before i even got my .:R32... :smiley:

Ive seen a nice set of Black with a red lip in the R8 style, was very tempted.

I rate them a lot. I think that normally only multi-spoke wheel designs suit the MK5, but I think these are the only exception. Having said that, if I were to buy some wheels I would save up and it would be BBS CH's 19" without a doubt.

Yeah quality - they'll always look aftermarket but anything from the VAG stable is acceptable IMHO.

They look great...
 
But I think they need to be darker. They are too silver. Perhaps a more carbon colour like the colour Blue182 sprayed his ST rims in. That would be HOTT.
