Caliper paint peeling off, warranty issue advice?
« on: 09 September 2008, 12:26 »
My gti is going in for an ECU update on Thursday. I was shining her at the weekend and noticed that the rear calipers have areas where the red paint has peeled off. Has anyone experienced this problem. I am going to raise it with the dealer when I take the car in and see what they say.

Anyone had any problems with their paint peeling off?

I'm sure someone on here has had them replaced under warranty. Must admit mine are looking a bit faded - I'll mention it when it goes in for service week after next - terrified they will damage my pristine 18 Monza II's though

A little bit of polish (Autoglym super-resin or something similar), followed by a coat of wax and they should look perfect again! I think they are just prone to a bit of fading, like red cars tend to do if not looked after.
