MK3 Driveshafts and cv joints
« on: 08 September 2008, 22:07 »
Probably been covered somewhere on here before but searching isn't helping me!  I got a 1995 1.8 carb cabrio and took the driveshafts off other day, the inner no probs held on with a c clip, but the outer,  can't see a clip or attaching method anywhere, read the haynes book and it says seek specialist vw advice!!! Well heres my plea!
Done alot of driveshafts before but never seen one like this, has a rubber/plastic coned washer with a slight notch in, thats it, not going to bash/press or pull it till I got a clue of what could be?
Herby

FAB is my life and the CABRIO's the wifes!!!!

Do you mean the outer cv joint? It is held on with circlip. Just bang the joint off with a rubber mallet.
