best oil ????

THe problem is its about 30 pound a year to join so you need to find some one who is a member or by a sh!t load of oil 

ITs also cheap for tyres.

Yep - costco bargain, where I got mine.

Dealer will charge £45+ for oil - ask to take your own next time.

I took my car in recently for a 'checkup' and the only thing they came back to me on was it needed an oil top-up which would be £15 for a 1L bottle, I told them I had a brand new one in the boot they could use (why they didnt see it I dont know) - when I got the car back they hadn't touched my bottle and didnt top up the oil which I thought was pretty poor - it was like well if I'm not buying the oil from them they wont do it.

my car is booked in at the dealers but i think i m going to cancel and go to midland vw where i usually go(with previous cars ) just need to make sure about warrenty, think custom code and a few other bits might have already put a spanner in the works any way

VW spec Comma 504 / 507 oil. 5 litre 5w-30 bottle sells for around £41.00.

Castrol Edge 10/60 is very good if you run a little harder

And WILL void your warranty!

Not good.  The car will use more fuel, and the Castrol 10w60 is old-skool oil for old-skool cars.  It most certainly aint any good for direct injection engines, such as the FSI turbo!

Nope, definately NOT.  Only a VW 504.00 5w30 (LongLife 3), or VW 503.00 0w30 (LongLife 2) should be used.

Nope.  Use any of the above spec oils from the "premuim" brands, such as Castrol, Motul, Fuchs, Pentosin, Elf, BP (or Aral if in Germany), OMV (Austria) - or VWs "own brand" Quantum, which is made by Castrol.

Do NOT use Comma oils.  They are shyte, and have lost ALL their former OEM approvals, and have NOT been approved by VW, dispite the claims which Comma state.  The only testing house which can award VW oil standards, is VW themselves, and no one else.  VW freely publish up to date lists of all oils which have passed their approvals, and Comma most definatley ain't on there!
