....So if some idiot slams into my rear and breaks my 'aftermarket-but-declared-to-insurer-with-adjustments-to-premium-and-excess' Milltek zorst, my insurer will only pay for a stock exhaust?

And will I have the option to accept that and pay the difference to have a Milltek replacement?

Also will I have the option to have the damaged exhaust to do with it as I will? [<< Just realised what I've written!!]

No, they should pay for what you have declared..

I dunno about that, but I would assume so as they will be no more out of pocket.

What as in buy it back? :undecided:

....Logic says that the insurer should pay for what's declared - Otherwise, what's the point of declaring it and its value? But some insurance companies make a point of stating they do "like for like" and therefore implying that others don't.

....Yes, as in buy-it-back. But as I'm very friendly with the boss of my Accident Repair Centre, I'm confident that he'd probably give it to me or at least do all he could to help me out overall.

Well like I say, its all down to policy wording...if you declare it, then you paying for to have that on your car, therefore, they are covering that item so they should replace that item,imo..I'd fight the bar stewards all the way if they disagreed..

I'm not too sure how that works - as in maybe you would have to give them some cash towards it if it was deemed sellable or maybes not? suppose it depends on your insurer

Dont lol, guy turned up Saturday while I was in the shower so thought result, I can wait for him to get it done. Turns up with green tint when mine has blue tint . . .

They are coming to my work on Thursday to fit a blue one. Something happened in Croydon town centre and they closed the main flyover to get to where I live, took the guys hours to get here and he was here for all of 3 minutes lol. Shall let you know how I get on on Thursday.

....I gave you a heads-up about the blue or green tint and assume you told them but they still got it wrong.

I was also going to post strongly advising you to be there - Either cancel footie or postpone them, but didn't think it was my place to say so.

Good Luck Thursday!

Matey boy is out there now swapping it over. Screen looks identical (as I would expect) to the one I have there now. The guy even had the cheak to say they he wouldnt even replace the windscreen for the chip that I have on mine. Let see him spend lots of money on a nice car and say the same, cheaky bastard. I was going to offer him a cup of tea until he said that.
