anyone fitted a Forge quick Shifter?
« on: 08 September 2008, 16:00 »
A thread was started on this subject just before the forum crash and that thread has disappeared, so has anybody any experience with the adjustable Forge Quick Shifter kits? Or any other kit for that matter.

Forge Quick Shift kit that shortens the forwards to back throw: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=&product=FMVWQS

and another kit for the left to right throw: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=1703MISC&product=FMVWSQS

best prices I have found so far are from JKM Performance: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/gearbox.htm

Fitting seems to be fairly straight forward and should be a worth while mod if you want a faster gear change (DSG drivers insert snug remarks here!!)

Ive got the shortshifter. Pretty good. cant rember what it was like before lo.

Its fully adjustable. So shorter throw = stiffer changing.

I had an EIP one in the LCR which is the same thing and it was great, felt so much better.

I am very interested in getting this done also, but would like a bit more feedback from people who have it on Golfs...there doesn't seem to be too many running it on GTI's at the moment.

OK so not tried one on the Golf yet but I would have though it would be very similar - go on you know you want to

If I had got a manual I would have definatley got one.

I had one fitted to my Mk2 Leon Fr, its the same shifter as they are all for the VAG 6spd models, very woth while although a tad dearer than the VF engineering version.
Why dont we try a GB if there's enough people wanting them maybe Forge would knock a bit off
