1.6 Gofl GLi Cab - 1980, 77'000 miles, mint condition, most things standard plus leather interior!

Can anyone tell me the performace loss because its not a GTi cab...?

im pretty sure that the gli has the same engine its just a name change - well thats what the insurance company told me. i think they changed to gti in '81.

  its really rare to find such an old one with so little mileage and mint - im glad to see u picked an early one - what colour is it?

well it has a completely different dash and wheel to mine - so maybe spec was different too. i asked the gli/gti question a little while back myself so ill have a look for thr thread

Dash will be different, even if it was a GTI - Dash and rear lights (on the tin-top) changed around 1981/82

modulater who made the last post on that thread used to work for vw and really knows his stuff. seems the engine is the same but as we can see from ur pic the trim had a change when they became gti's

Nice cab Rich, like it a lot, looks really tidy. Your seats look like the same as in my Rivage only mine are a lot more worn ! You've got same steering wheel as well and mines on a 91 plate.

Is that a clipper kit it is wearing? Is it standard for the year? Looks very nice, and even has the really old retro dash with the round dials. Very cool.
Hope to see it next month at action then.
