Remove Glovebox

Hi, is the removal of the glovebox a fairly simple thing to do? I need to cut a hole in the side of it so I can thread some cable through to hook up my iPod in the glovebox.

I've noticed a few screws on the inside of the glovebox so do I simply remove these and the whole thing will come out?

Any help would be much appreciated - I have a Haynes manual on order but haven't received it yet and can't wait

its easy.The bottem trim has to come off first tho. theres 3 screws in the top and 1 either side. Once this has been taken out you can see three bolts that hold the glove box in, then if you open the glove box theres two screws in the top. thats it, it will just come out.
However becareful of the light. make sure you unclip it before you take the glove box out. If the mechanism for the light comes apart its a right pain to put right!!

yeah, most of the interior is fairly simple to remove and refit. Just clips and screws.

A haynes manual comes in handy sometimes for this, cause sometimes you might miss a screw/clip and end up forcing the piece off and breaking it.

Just a thought before you start taking your car to bits (even though it doesn't take long to remove, i fitted a new one last week in mine). At the side of the glove box on the inside is the internal light which just pops out if you get a flat head screwdriver underneath.

Once its out you'll have room to put the wires through. If you'd rather not do that i can't see why you can't just drill a hole near it or next to it so you can get your hand in to assist in feeding the wire through....
